The Fiddler's Elbow Beer The Fiddler's Elbow , a few steps from Santa Maria Maggiore (via dell'Olmata 43) is one of the Irish pub in Rome that I appreciate more. If I were asked to describe the typical Irish pub would say, good Guinness, large breakfast bar with stools, wooden tables, the predominance of green and brown, various objects on the walls, screens for the rugby, no table service, little or nothing food, a piano, darts, and happy people chatting and having fun. The Fiddler's Elbow much reflects this description. The entrance will soon reach the main hall which has a bench and some table and that some steps, you enter the second room, the bigger and more fun, where are the rest of the tables, a mini pool table, darts, several TV screens and the floor.
Very useful window on the room raised from the bench, especially after the third pint.
Beers are the usual Irish beers (Guinness, Harp, etc.). And at a cost of 5.5 € / pint though happy hour (till 20) the price drops to € 4.5 . The Guinness is really good, maybe the best (along with that of the Druid's Den) is tasted in the capital. The restaurant also offers a good selection of whiskey , a very good Irish coffee and cheese and onion potato chips in bags that are always there.
The music is typical rock and passed on good volume allowing you to chat in peace.
As for the people, I've seen everything: locals, tourists and, oddly enough, too many pretty girls (bench included).
My advice? To try and try again, now it's my Irish pub reference.
